More about our Teacher
I'm Katelyn Blake, I born and raised in Bristol and completed my degree in Primary Education at University of the West of England in 2007. After this, I gained my first teaching post at a school in Northampton where I stayed for 7 years. The timing fell in place for me to move back ‘home’ and I was lucky enough to get a teaching post at Olveston! After teaching in Year 1 for a couple of years, I made the leap to EYFS and have loved every minute! I have welcomed six classes into their Olveston learning journey now and enjoy sharing this very special year with them.
As we only have the one Reception class, I am the EYFS leader as well as KS1 leader. I am Acting Deputy Head with the responsibility of leading RE, Computing and Online Safety within the school, something I feel is very important as the children are growing up as part of the digital generation!
Hi I'm Lois Bradburn, before working at Olveston, I was a Legal PA working in the centre of Bristol. After having my own children and listening to children read at Olveston School as a parent helper, I decided to re-train to become a teaching assistant.
My first role at Olveston was as a 1:1 teaching assistant, before I took on the role as EYFS TA. I have now worked with Mrs Blake for 4 years. In 2019, I furthered my training to become a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, allowing me to cover Mrs Blake’s planning time.
In my spare time, I love watching my boys play football and walking my retired greyhound, Calvin.
