Welcome to Olveston CEVC Primary School

Rooted in Love

Kindness, Friendship, Happiness, Respect, Courage and Success

Olveston CEVC Primary School sits at the heart of the South Gloucestershire countryside, in the quintessentially English village of Olveston. The school is surrounded by rolling green fields and farmland, yet is only moments away from major commuter links such as the M48 and M4. The school has a rich history and has been part of village since 1836.  The school is proud to have retained its character, from the old school bell that sits above the original infant school to stonewalls that hug the school boundary.

As a Church of England school we are proud of our role in helping guide our children through their educations and lives.  The school has strong links with our local church - St. Mary's, which ensures that the school remains at the heart of village life. We are a Christian community; happy, welcoming and caring and our children understand that mistakes are part of getting it right and sometimes you need to forgive and try again.

Olveston is a school where children have a love of learning, where expectations are high but more importantly every child and adult is valued as an individual; each recognised for their uniqueness.  During their time with us, interests and talents will be developed. Our goal is that children leave us with 'the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence'. They will be empowered to live their own lives and have resilience to face a rapidly changing world.

Teaching staff at Olveston CEVC Primary School are dedicated to providing creative yet purposeful learning experiences which are steered by the children - pupil voice is at the centre of decision making; greater ownership, greater engagement.

In our 2018 Ofsted Inspections we achieved the   grade of  'Good +'. In 2016, the school also received a SIAMS 'Outstanding' rating (click the logo below). We pride ourselves in developing very good relationships with our parents and families. We believe that children learn best when parents and school work together in partnership.
