Key Priorities

The autumn term 2019 school development plan (SDP) is currently under review.

 

The school governors have identified the following overarching goals as part of their three year strategic planning:

OUTSTANDING

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT

 

  •  Review, monitor and assess the School Vision and mission statement
  • Ensure continuity in key roles within the Leadership of both the school and the governing body
  • Improve monitoring and awareness of staff well being
  • Ensure the school’s Financial situation is stable and resilient

 

OUTSTANDING

OUTCOMES FOR PUPILS

 

  •  Develop further opportunities for all children to excel and thrive in all aspects of school life
  • Embrace the new Ofsted inspection framework by continue to offer a broad and deep curriculum based on the interest of the children and the inspired by the local history and heritage of the area
  • Continue to be laser sharp in our monitoring of pupils academic outcomes, seeking interventions as and when required to maximise pupil progress and attainment
  • Outwardly recognise and celebrate all achievements by our children and staff both in and out of school life.
  • Further investment in ICT resources and equipment throughout the school to develop and enhance the ICT curriculum particular focusing on coding and programming
  • Introducing, implementing and embedding a new RSE curriculum into school

 

OUTSTANDING

QUALITY OF TEACHING LEARNING, AND ASSESSMENT

 

  •  Establish and Embed links with local Alliance for support and shared outstanding practice
  • Establish a teaching staff that have deep knowledge, experience and skills that can be utilised across all stages of Primary education
  • Develop further the skills and experience of staff as middle leaders who have ownership of their subject areas and the confidence to promote and develop them in line with the school’s curriculum vision

 

OUTSTANDING

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, BEHAVIOUR AND WELFARE INCLUDING SAFEGUARDING

 

  • Develop increase in mental wellbeing, resilience and emotional intelligence
  • Staff awareness of mental health and resilience improvement strategies
  • Parents and carers to be aware of their role in fostering emotional, physical (and spiritual) wellbeing
  • To plan and utilise opportunities for children to reflect on our core Christian Values, British Values, and how these apply to a range of different contexts both within school and the wider world.
  • Absence and attendance
  • Policy for positive behaviour and exclusions
  • Explore ways to enhance provision of activities which improve physical and mental wellbeing
  • To promote the safety of pupils both in and beyond the school environment and ensure pupils are confident in staying safe from abuse and exploitation 

 

BUILDING AND PROPERTY MAINTENANCE

  •  Enhance outdoor environment including play equipment
  • Seek out opportunities to reduce the school environmental impact and become a centre for promoting environmental awareness
  • Further develop conservation areas and surrounding outdoor learning environment further
  • Continue with rolling programme of internal and external maintenance
